Namirial Wallet Studio (NWS)
Description
Namirial Wallet Studio is the backoffice console of Namirial Wallet, designed to empower organizations with complete control over the management and orchestration of Namirial digital identity workflows within the Wallet ecosystem. It supports Wallet operations, including digital credential issuance, validation, credential lifecycle management, and interoperability.
It allows organizations to define and configure digital credential templates, manage the issuance and verification process of digital credentials, and oversee user identity lifecycle operations. This includes the creation, updating, revocation (in progress), and validation of digital credentials.
Namirial Wallet Studio also facilitates the management of user access and permissions, enabling secure and flexible administration across various roles and use cases. It supports complex operational requirements, such as multi-step onboarding processes, digital credential revocation policies, and trust framework alignment, making it suitable for both public and private sector applications.
Its modular and scalable design makes Namirial Wallet Studio an ideal solution for organizations seeking to embed Wallet capabilities within their digital infrastructure or build tailored identity workflows that align with specific business or regulatory needs.
The Namirial Wallet Studio consists of those key components:
- Credential manager
- Issuer service
- Verifier service
- User service
- Customer service
- RBAC
- Audit Log
The Credential Manager is responsible for handling all credential-related operations. It enables clients to fully manage the entire lifecycle of their credentials, from creation to revocation or expiration , offering flexibility and control over their authentication needs.
The User and Customer Service facilitates scalable infrastructure management, providing clients with full control over user and customer data. This service ensures streamlined operations and supports growth by adapting to evolving client requirements. The service allows Users to manage both users and customers based on assigned roles, enabling a robust and clearly defined separation of responsibilities and access rights
Instead, the Issuer Service and Verifier Service components are designed to facilitate the secure and standardized handling of credential issuance and verification processes, also ensure compliance with the European Digital Identity (EUDI) standards. This service leveraging on use of standardized protocols: OID4VCI for the issuance and OID4VP for the presentation of credentials.
These components ensure smooth integration with the client's system, allowing them to request credential issuance or verification without the need to manage the underlying complexities. As a result, the backend system provides a robust and scalable infrastructure to handle all aspects of Digital Credential management, offering clients the flexibility to focus on their core business operations while ensuring compliance with the evolving requirements of digital identity standards.
Specifically, these components handle the various requests for the issuance or verification of Digital Credentials in the two main data formats: mDoc and SD-JWT.
- mDoc (Mobile Document) is a data format based on the ISO/IEC 18013-5 standard and 18013-7 specification for secure digital representation of physical identity documents stored on a mobile device. It ensures reliable identity verification using cryptographic methods and secure communication protocols.
- SD-JWT (Signed Data JSON Web Token) is another data format based on JWT (RFC 7519): JSON Web Token JWS (RFC 7515): JSON Web Signature, used for presenting verifiable credentials, focusing on providing cryptographically secure data that can be easily verified and validated.
Partners can choose their preferred data format for Digital Credentials based on their specific needs and the requirements of their various services.
All data collected from the issuance and verification services is consolidated and monitored through a comprehensive, user-friendly audit log, which provides visibility into the status of both processes.
